Mental Math Abacus is a program designed to develop the right side of the brain using the abacus as the tool leading to FASTER MATHEMATICAL CALCULATIONS. MMA has unparallel advantage of making use of full brain i.e. both left and right brain. Research has shown that right brain is mostly under-utilized and is associated with development of creativity, memory and imagination power.

Unlike to the arithmetic processes with which we are familiar, as well as our school curriculum which only uses left brain (which is known to be associated with analysis and logic only), it is able to draw upon right-brain resources and the result is dramatically increased speed and accuracy.

  • Advance your child’s Arithmetic skills
  • Develop greater mental calculation abilities and capacity
  • Students can do big and complex number calculations with ease
  • Improves concentration, observation and mental endurance
  • Promote intuitive thinking and creativity
  • Enhances problem-solving capability
  • Boost your child’s confidence when it comes to mathematics
  • Provide a sense of achievement as the child’s proficiency improves
  • Improves overall performance in curriculum and extra curriculum activities

We believe Age 6 to 7 (Grade 1 to 2) is the correct age to start learning this technique. At this age, your child is old enough to understand the numbers and ready to grasp the different arithmetic calculations. Introducing Abacus technique at the right stage helps them enhance and master the skills in short period of time. Having said that we have seen kids, who are ready to learn as early as at age 5.

This is a real FUN and EASY way of learning mathematics. Your child won’t feel any pressure learning this technique as we do not make it as a tedious process. You will feel very happy when your child start talking mathematics at home in no time.

Teaching technique and Syllabus followed by “Mental Math Abacus Australia” is different than the traditional way of learning mathematics in school. With the help of Abacus Technique, your child will be able to do mental arithmetic without the help of pen/paper or calculator. Also, present day busy schedule doesn’t often allow parents to devote their continuous attention to provide additional coaching time at home. MMA coaching combined with your little bit of contribution at home ensures rapid growth in child’s learning. With MMA, you will enjoy spending some time doing maths with your child at home.

A student who has already demonstrated advanced ability in mathematics will benefit greatly from learning the abacus method. Relieved of the mechanics of arithmetic calculations, the student will be able to devote full attention to more advanced concepts in mathematics and comprehend better in other subjects as well.

Abacus is an ancient Chinese technique used as early as 500 BC for simple arithmetic i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, square roots etc. Abaci is a tool which helps in obtaining arithmetic calculations by the manipulations of beads. During the tenure of the course, constant training replaces the use of physical Abaci with an image of the same in student’s mind i.e. with help of visualization technique students are able to visualize Abaci tool in their mind and perform the arithmetic calculations without the use of calculator or computer. Overall, the technique aims at training the students to perform mathematical calculations mentally.

There are two types of courses available for Mental Math Abacus which are Elementary and Advance course. Elementary course is available for the age group 5 to 7 years and Advance course is available for the age group of 8 to 12 years.

The student should be able to write the numbers from 0 to 9. In the elementary classes students are gradually presented with numbers up to 10,000 on Abacus. These students are then able to perform the additions and subtractions in their mind using Abacus techniques and perform their calculations faster than using a calculator or other device.

The student should have basic knowledge of addition, subtraction and multiplication tables up to 9×9.
